Career progression is supported through regular personal development conversation (PDC) with your manager. These are arranged by your line manager when you join HMRC. You can also request to have a PDC with your manager if you find an opportunity that interests you. You can also discuss volunteering opportunities in your PDC to develop skills and competencies for future jobs. My advice would be to keep an eye on your department's intranet site as opportunities are often advertised on here. Hope that helps :)
