Additional information

Hi there Daniel, upon starting the TSP Programme, you will be put onto an initial starting salary. Does an individual remain on this starting salary for the 3-4 years until successful completion, or would there be a pay rise on reaching Stage 2?

Hi Masood, thank you for the question. I can only speak from experience, and I'm unaware of the specific figures. However, as far as I am aware, if you're an external candidate then you'll start on the minimum of the pay scale for the equivalent of a 'HO', which is around £35,000. You will stay at this pay band until you get promoted (successful completion).
It may vary each year, but in my experience on the course, there could be performance related rewards such as a 'bonus' for successfully passing all exams.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Another question, I was informed of formal breaks within the academic calendar, e.g. 4-6 weeks in Summer and 2 weeks at Christmas, are these just breaks in the learning aspect - so you would still need to work unless you chose to take your annual leave on those periods?

Hi, assuming you're a full time employee and not part-time/have special working arrangements then yes, that's correct. It's breaks between learning and a good time to take Annual Leave, otherwise you'd be doing your other non-academic work.
