Tell me about the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is witnessing the genuine transformation that occurs when people feel truly included and valued for who they are. When I see a colleague who once felt overlooked step confidently into a meeting to share their perspective, or watch a team shift from superficial diversity awareness to authentic appreciation of different viewpoints, I know my work is making a meaningful difference.

There's nothing quite like the moment when someone tells me, "I finally feel I can be myself at work," or when a manager shares how embracing inclusive practices has unlocked their team's creativity and problem-solving abilities. These human connections and breakthroughs make the complex challenges of EDI work profoundly worthwhile.

I also find deep satisfaction in creating lasting change - developing systems and approaches that will continue supporting inclusion long after any individual project ends. Knowing that my work today is helping build a Civil Service that better reflects and serves the diverse communities of the UK gives purpose to even the most challenging days.

This combination of immediate human impact and long-term systemic improvement makes my role uniquely rewarding and keeps me passionate about continuing this important work.
