I have worked for HMRC for about 17 years in various roles and can say the most rewarding job is seeing the impact of my work. When I was on the PAYE/Self Assessment helpline, helping customers with their tax and hearing the relief in their voices when I have fixed an issue or explained something. I work in recruitment at the moment and its rewarding to see candidates go through the process and come into HMRC, having been there from the start. Everything we do in HMRC has an impact - whether that's the work we do, its reputation or our interactions with my colleagues. I am proud to be part of the impact HMRC has in society.
