What do you like about your job and the company?
There is a good mix of work. Sometimes I'm concentrating on editing a document, or formatting a candidate pack. But other times I can be lost down a rabbit hole of websites and articles while I research labour market insights or info on the best job boards!
Greatest achievements
Back in 2004 my friend and I decided it would be a laugh to walk 60k for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity. We didn't know however, that to enter we had to raise £1.5k each first! Challenge accepted we organised a Charity Ball, complete with live music, auction, and wonderful food and copious amounts of donated booze. Target smashed we raised £7000 that night. One huge hangover later, we then had to start the training! Great memories, and a huge sense of achievement, maybe it's time I did something similar again?....

Never by shy or afraid to try something new and don't expect opportunities to come to you, they might do, if you're in the right place at the right time but mostly, it's about keeping your eyes open. Taking action on your goals and believing in yourself is important, lets face it, you are your own best friend. Be open and flexible and avoid linear thinking as you can miss opportunities right in front of you. Doing something different to your business as usual is a great way to meet new people, network and learn more about yourself.

I never thought I would get onto the TSP. I had to push myself out of my comfort zone to attend the assessment centres, take part in all of the activities. I continue to do so with my day job - I don't like presenting, but I do lots of it. It builds confidence and resilience. Rationalise what's the worse that could happen by trying something new, or taking on a new challenge.
For me, with the assessment centre, if I didn't get accepted - so be it. I got good experience of interviewing. Met new and interesting people, and got free food from attending the assessment centre (back when they were in person). Once I told myself these things, I pushed myself out my comfort zone to attend the day. I had worked hard to get the invite, so although I wasn't confident in going and being myself, that's what I had to do and it worked out well.
Take the set backs as opportunities to reflect, develop and learn from. Keep pushing through set backs and pushing yourself out of your normal comfort zone to be able to achieve the goals you set for yourself.
